That's right, a meat CSA! Receive a selection of meat on the second Saturday of the month. Different share types available to suite your needs. Pick Up at Highland Orchards Only.
Only Available For Pick Up At Highland Orchards On The 2nd Saturday of Each Month between 9 am and 5 pm. We are proud to be partnering with local farmers and 4-H clubs to bring you a meat CSA! On the second Saturday of each month you will receive a bag of meat. No feet or heads will be included in the shares. There is a $15 fee required to purchase two insulated bags. Bring your old bag when you pick up your share and we will swap it out. We will charge your card $15 for the insulated bags with your first purchase order. Each share requires it's own bag (we are not going to try to squeeze 20 lbs of meat into a bag). We have 2 shares available: Chicken Only, and Trio. CHICKEN ONLY. As it states, chicken only. Each month you will receive 3 chickens - one whole and two cut up (4 breasts, 4 legs, 4 wings, and 1 chicken stock package). Each chicken will have a dressed weight of 3.5-4 lbs (weight before being cut up). At our discretion, the parts will be bone-in or boneless. TRIO: Each month you will receive 10-12 lbs of three kinds of meat. You will always get beef and chicken. The third meat type will pork or lamb, at our discretion. You will receive approximately 3-4 lbs of each kind of each meat source. You do not get to choose which cuts you receive or what kind of meat; this is purely farmer-choice. We will not give you just liver and ground beef, nor will you receive just steaks; it will be a mix of cuts. Example of a Trio Share: 1 lb ground beef, 2 steaks, ½ lb short ribs, 1 chicken cut into parts, 1 lb ground lamb, 1 lb lamb cubes, 1 lb lamb chops. "Auto-renew" means that you will be billed for one delivery at a time. And unless you cancel your share, you will be billed the next month too. You do not need to re-order each month. We are a small family farm that has been growing fresh fruits and vegetables since 1832. We grow most everything in its season, from asparagus and strawberries in the spring, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, heirloom tomatoes, and corn in the summer, to apples, butternut, and pumpkins in the fall. Four greenhouses extend our seasons and provide winter crops such as spinach, kale, Swiss Chard, lettuces, and arugula. We run a year-round CSA program with a variety of options, and the market at the farm is open 6 days per week, closed on Sundays. We also have drop off points in Philadelphia for our CSA program. We are located on the north side of Wilmington, easily accessible from Rt. 202, I-95, and well-marked local roads. |
